The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), formerly known as the Nigerian Prisons Service, is a paramilitary agency responsible for the custody, rehabilitation, and reformation of convicted criminals in Nigeria. Ranks in the Nigerian Correctional Service

Salary Structure for 2025

The salary in the Nigerian Correctional Service is determined by rank and level on the CONPASS scale. With the adjustment of the national minimum wage, salaries in 2025 are expected to reflect increases across all ranks.

  • Correctional Assistant III (entry-level with SSCE): ₦70,000 – ₦90,000 monthly
  • Assistant Inspector of Corrections (NCE or ND): ₦95,000 – ₦120,000
  • Assistant Superintendent II (BSc or HND holders): ₦150,000 – ₦180,000
  • Deputy Superintendent and above: ₦200,000 – ₦500,000 depending on grade
  • Controller-General of Corrections: ₦700,000 and above per month

Allowances

Officers are entitled to various allowances including:

  • Uniform allowance
